was organised from 14 to 17 Dec 1999 at Hotel Ashok, Bangalore. The event
had two components: Tutorials on 14 Dec 99; Symposium from 15 to 17 Dec
99. The objective of the Symposium was to provide a platform for practicing
Radar Scientists, Engineers, Manufacturers and Users to share the experiences,
issues and knowledge to identify the technology progress path for better
tomorrow. The response surpassed organisers’ expectation.
Tutorial on Active Aperture Array was conducted on 14 Aug 1999 by eminent
Radar Scientist, Dr. R. P. Shenoy who has been in the fore front in shaping
Radar Technology in India. 126 Scientists and Engineers attended the Tutorials.
The Symposium, attended by 258 Indian and International Delegates, was
inaugurated by Dr. R. P. Shenoy and Key note address was delivered by
Dr K Kasturirangan, Chairman Space Commission, and Secretary, Dept. of
Space, Govt of India on 15 Dec 99. A multi colored Souvenir, a showcase
of the Symposium, was released during the Inaugural ceremony.
The Symposium had Invited papers from eminent personalities in the Radar
Field and presentation of 76 Papers by Indian and International participants.
An Indoor Exhibition was organised from 15 to 17 Dec 99 to provide platform
for the vendors, developers and manufacturers to exhibit their systems,
sub systems, components and technologies of Radar Science and Technology
fields. The exhibition was inaugurated by Cdr HS Sharma (Retd), President,
IETE on 15 Dec 99. 18 Indian and International Vendors participated in
the Exhibition. Many could not be accommodated as the response was far
more than estimated. |
